Teeth Extractions in Kelowna

Teeth Extractions

Removing teeth from the mouth is not always our first option when issues arise, but it sometimes becomes necessary when there are serious problems with the teeth. We may need to remove one or several teeth, depending on the severity of the dental challenges you are facing. We can provide simple tooth extractions in our dental offices in Kelowna. Our dental team will make sure you are comfortable and do everything we can to ensure a quick recovery and restoration after your procedure.

When Are Extractions Necessary?

Extractions can be needed for a variety of reasons. One common reason we suggest removing teeth from the mouth is overcrowding, which causes the teeth to overlap or shift out of place. This is especially important when the wisdom teeth come in. Teeth may also come in or develop improperly, which could also require removal. Additionally, serious issues such as deep infections that can’t be treated with other procedures, such as root canal treatments, may require tooth extractions.

What Happens After Tooth Extraction?

Tooth extractions require some time to heal, so we’ll send you home with detailed care instructions. You’ll need to be very careful with the socket for some time (the empty hole where the tooth was). Once you have fully healed, it’s important to restore the tooth so your bite, smile, and speaking abilities are not negatively impacted. We can suggest several restorative options, ranging from dental bridges to dental implants, to fully restore your teeth.
